Network? More like Sweatwork!

Is there really a need for more than one profile?  3 times the same friends isn’t three times as many friends!

Don said something on Stevie’s website that got me thinking.  He said that he had a MySpace profile and decided that the one would be enough – I guess that’s true.  One thing I’ve noticed while getting hooked on the whole Facebook stuff is that while these sites are a good way of keeping in touch with people – and finding people who you’ve managed to lose over the (greatly incresing) years, you usually end up with the same bunch of friends saying the same things (which is usually very little)!

Ohh – tonight I’m doing my hair, I’m going for a pint – I’m watching Transformers again! (Bob)

The one thing multiple profiles is useful for though is that one friend, that one person you haven’t spoken to for ages might just be on the last one you set up – for example, I started with Myspace – put a couple of songs up and confirmed that I had some friends.  That was great – but it wasn’t until I started a Bebo profile (and yes I know I’m too old) that I came across some college buddies that I hadn’t spoken too for ages.  Then I went onto Facebook and got in touch with Johnny Joke-um.

Although I may never keep in touch with some of these people ordinarily – it’s good to know where they are and what they’re up to.  So for the benefit of anyone who may or may not want to be my f-w-iend here how to:

  1. Okay, that’s an interesting point.

I just figure that the time and effort that it takes to create, learn how to pimp out, maintain and check several other profiles to find out what a handful of other people are at these might just be better spent calling up an old friend that you do have a number for and maybe heading out for a pint at some stage.

Not that I do that either, just making a point.

    Hope you’re well mate.
