From the opening credits, and that spectacular John Williams score I was like a child lapping up the latest Superman installment! The film has had some fairly average reviews, which in my humble opinion are slightly unfair – Superman has indeed returned and it’s very welcome.  Even with it’s religious “overtones” – Jor-El sending his only son to save mankind – please (this was however an inherited Brando performance which works without dating the film) Superman is a worthy, if a quite vain, saviour!
 
Empire does the film justice in my view with it’s 5STAR review – click their logo to read it and watch loads of clips and trailers etc.
