If you’d like to save some money on purchases you could do worse than shopping via a cashback site. I’ve listed a few of my favourites below. Full disclosure, the links are referral links, however, they are listed in order of preference, not by referral fees.
- TopCashBack – I find that this site usually offers the best, non-subscription, CASHBACK offers. Single purchase items like insurance or mobile phones can run at up to £100 per transaction so definitely worth a try.
- Quidco – this is a stalwart. it’s been around for as long as CASHBACK was a thing. Sometimes better rates than TopCashBack, but rarely. Still a couple of stores on there that aren’t on others (like Argos).
- CompleteSavings (not a referral link) – this one would tope the list if it weren’t for the convoluted way to work the system to avoid a fee. Usually offering a minimum of 10% of your purchase price as cash back it beats other sites for their rates. But there are catches. The maximum you can “earn” in a month is £250, so if you’re buying a big ticket item which is say £3k (like a family holiday) – you won’t get the full £300 but it’ll definitely be worth more than the other sites. Also it costs £15/month – you can claim this back if you’ve bought ANYTHING at ANY VALUE via the site but you have to go about claiming it back every month (eg – a £2 purchase on eBay will get your monthly fee back) so, if you’re not disciplined enough to do this then my advice would be to use those listed above. I think you can only join this one after purchasing at one of their partner retailers (you usually get a message that looks very like spam saying you can earn back £XX of your purchase)
